Light Tech Fiber
Light Tech, Inc. was established in November 2005 as a sister company of KITCO Fiber Optics (www.kitcofo.com).

KITCO is a nationally recognized provider of fiber optic connectorization products, training and field services to the military and commercial communications industry that specializes in designing and fabricating fiber optic tools, tool kits, custom cable assemblies, commercial and military fiber products, and private label kits for major connector manufacturers.

Light Tech is certified as a Small Business and our customers are comprised of both government and commercial firms. We are currently a prime contractor for Cox Communications, the 3rd largest cable company in the country.

Fiber Optic Repair

Light Tech has five (5) crews encompassing over 60 years of fiber experience and over 40 years experience in low voltage applications.  We are proud to offer our customers superior technical services including: Structured Cabling (voice and
data), Splicing (fiber, coax, copper), Outside Plant and Construction.

We pride ourselves on our reputation as a customer service-oriented communications contractor and we strive to build and maintain long-term relationships with our customers.


OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM

William Sheppard Miller, III (Owner) serves as Chairman of KITCO Fiber Optics. Shep has more than 20 years of executive business leadership experience and small business ownership. Prior to obtaining majority ownership of KITCO Fiber Optics, Shep served as General Manager for Goodman and Associates, a major regional accounting firm headquartered in Norfolk, VA, and as a Manager at
Northrop Grumman Newport News. Shep has served as Chairman of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority for 7 years, and also holds many other civic leadership responsibilities. 


Dan Morris (Owner/RCDD)
serves as Vice President of KITCO Fiber Optics. He was previously an Installation Project Manager for Bazon-Cox and Associates
where he was responsible for multiple large government and commercial telecommunications installation projects. Dan holds the professional designation
of Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD). He is recognized as
an industry expert in harsh environment/shipboard fiber optic applications and
also functions as an expert consultant to numerous Navy, Shipyard and DoD subcontractor clients.


Kenneth Owens (General Operations Manager)
has more than twenty-two years experience in fiber optic splicing and OSP construction, including aerial and underground construction. Kenneth served for sixteen years as a contractor for Cox Communications and was responsible for splicing the entire fiber optic backbone on the Southside of Hampton Roads. He currently holds the ETA Fiber Optic Technician and Installer Certifications.


Michael Hockman (Project Supervisor)
 has more than 15 years experience as a fiber optics/telecommunications technician and Professional Services Manager. Mike is an Air Force veteran with a proven ability to direct complex projects from conception to completion. He is skilled with installation and maintenance of fiber optic, phone, data and wireless communication systems. 
He currently holds the ETA Fiber Optic Technician and Installer Certifications.


Edward Britt, III (Field Supervisor)
has more than 18 years experience as a
fiber optics/telecommunications technician. Ed has a proven ability to direct complex projects from conception to completion and is skilled in installation and maintenance of fiber optic, phone, data and wireless communication systems.
He currently holds the NCTI Master Tech Certification.
